Redmi K20 series phones have been around for some time now and it is clear that Xiaomi may soon bring its successor to the markets. It is expected that Redmi K30 will be confirmed to launch the phone next month. Just like the Redmi K20, the Redmi K30 hopes that Redmi will be the best at the price it should get, which is more affordable for the general public. There are many speculations as to what the Redmi K30 might bring, but for the first time, we got to see live pictures of the phone.

Courtesy of two posts on Weibo, a Redmi K30 prototype has been spotted under some testing. While the design of the phone cannot be commented on as it is under a thicker cover, the display is visible and reveals a lot of the information being displayed. And, this confirms some of the previous rumors surrounding the Redmi K30.

The first major changes in the Redmi K series came in the form of losing pop-up cameras. Like the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus on the Redmi K30, the front will have a dual hole-punch cutout for selfie cameras. The display does not have curved edges, but has large curved corners. Like the Redmi K20, the bezels look quite thin.

However, the photos reveal some specifications of the Redmi K30 and it seems in the premium smartphone segment that Xiaomi is taking the game to the likes of OnePlus and Asus.

The Redmi K30 notification page reveals the presence of a 120Hz refresh rate display. Xiaomi was rumored to bring a higher refresh rate display, but the jump from 60Hz to 120Hz is about to baffle. Currently, only the Asus ROG Phone 2 offers a 120Hz display. OnePlus is also hoping to debut a 120Hz screen on the OnePlus 8 series, but it seems that Xiaomi wants to beat OnePlus this time.

The display is of 6.66 inch 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution. The display is most likely to use an AMOLED screen and may also be an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Redmi K30 could probably use Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 730G chipset, given that the listing stated the presence of the Adreno 618 GPU. The Snapdragon 730G could be an ideal choice for the K30, given its premium status in the market.

64GB storage is also provided in Redmi K30, which can be the base variant of the device. Xiaomi can combine it with 6GB of RAM but higher variants may offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with more RAM and storage reserved for the Redmi K30 Pro.

Redmi K30 is seen running on MIUI 11, which is clear. This could possibly be based on Android 10 as Xiaomi has updated the Redmi K20 series much earlier than Android 10.
