Redmi 8 will launch with big battery, fast charging and Type-C port

Redmi 8 is going to be launched in India on 9 October. Prior to its launch, Xiaomi has released some special features about the upcoming budget smartphone without revealing specific details. The company is focusing on the big battery and cameras of Redmi 8. Apart from this, we now also know that the Redmi 8 will be equipped with fast charging support and a Type-C port, both of which were missing from the Redmi 7.

In a recent tweet, Redmi India revealed that Redmi 8 will come with faster charging support in addition to a larger battery than Redmi. A separate tweet by Xiaomi Global's VP Manu Kumar Jain has revealed that the Redmi 8 comes with a Type-C port, which will no doubt be enjoyed by MI fans.

Redmi 8 Launch Date

The Redmi 8 is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support as both these features are also available on the Redmi 8A. To recall, the Redmi 7 has a 4,000mAh battery and it only supports 10W charging, so the Redmi 8 looks like a very nice upgrade over its predecessor in the battery department.

Redmi 8 will be available on Flipkart after its launch on 9 October. The e-commerce platform has revealed some more information about the smartphone such as splash resistance, waterdrop display, and dual camera setup. The Redmi 8 will also get a protective coating for splash resistance and a shiny, aura mirror design.

In a few days, Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi 8, when we learn about its exact specs and pricing in India. The phone is expected to be less than Rs 10,000 and its price can be Redmi 7 i.e. around Rs 7,999.
